Dr. Cutlip is Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Section Chief of Interventional Cardiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He is also Executive Director of Clinical Investigation at Harvard Clinical Research Institute, where he has been a leader in the design and management of multiple clinical trials of interventional cardiology devices. His research activities have focused on evaluating clinical outcomes after percutaneous coronary intervention with special interest in restenosis, stent thrombosis, and outcomes in patients with diabetes. He is co-founder of the Academic Research Consortium, an international effort to standardize methods for clinical trials in interventional cardiology, including coronary stents and percutaneous valves. He has authored over 120 manuscripts on these and related topics and serves as section editor in Interventional Cardiology for the electronic and online publication UpToDate.
