Associate Professor Peter Kistler is the Head of Clinical Electrophysiology Research at The Baker Heart Research Institute and consultant cardiologist/electrophysiologist at The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne. He has completed a PhD in atrial fibrillation mechanisms and post doctoral research at St Bartholomews Hospital, London in AF ablation. He has been supported by the NHMRC and National Heart Foundation through fellowships and project grant support.

He has more than 70 publications in peer reviewed journals including the international medical journals: Circulation, JACC and European Heart Journal. He is a member of the international editorial boards of: Heart and Journal of Cardiovascular electrophysiology and is an invited reviewer for international journals: JACC, Heart Rhythm Journal, PACE and Journal of Cardiovascular electrophysiology (JCE). Given his international standing in atrial tachycardia he has been invited to provide this chapter for "Up to Date" in 2011.
